Red Letters: Paul Edition
Monday, November 16, 2009 @ 9:53 pm by Josh Burcham
Now these aren’t Red Letters (they didn’t come from Jesus’ mouth), but I recently read these in Corinthians and wanted to pass them on to you. I think they do a great job at describing a life worth living. Paul was writing to the Corinthians asking them to expect them into their fold, but whether he was asking for acceptance or not the lifestyle that they have, that gives them the ability to make these statements is the lifestyle I want. I want to be able to make this statements about myself:
We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry. 4 In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. 5 We have been beaten, been put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food. 6 We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us,* and by our sincere love. 7 We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense. 8 We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors. 9 We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed. 10 Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything. 2 Corinthians 6:3
What do I need to change in my life and heart to not just imitate this lifestyle, but to live it?

Creativity Takes Time
Thursday, November 5, 2009 @ 10:11 pm by Josh Burcham
Creativity is impressive and sometimes that creativity is more impressive than others. The video below was created by Elevation Church on Tithing. It has a great message from a young kid on God’s plan for your money. “It’s Simple.”
Creativity in the video didn’t start when the camera turned on and didn’t stop after the cameras turned off. Creativity flowed for a long time, from the actor they chose (granted it was a shoe in using the pastor’s kid), the script that was written, the emotional pull from a child, to the patience in the editing. Creativity takes time and even with great ideas, the idea can always be better with time.

Ovechkin, Need to Say More
Monday, November 2, 2009 @ 6:56 pm by Josh Burcham
Now I won’t let my brother know that I posted this about Ovechkin; I like to give him a hard time about his love for Ovechkin. But no one could deny the fact that this guy has some skills. Enjoy this video of some of his top goals. The one on Phoenix is nuts!
Now for your viewing pleasure, took this quick shot of Andrew getting out of the shower. I think he has taken the whole “fan” thing to another level.

Of course, that was a joke and not Andrew’s rear-end.
