As I entered my local QuikTrip this morning I found a fresh made QuikTrip Kitchen’s sandwich being handed to me. As well as, a coupon for another free one and a later time. I’ve had their sandwiches before and in terms of quality I would compare it to the cheaper version of Paradise Bakery sandwiches. In other words, they’re good and don’t belong in a typical convenience store. But QT isn’t your typical convenience store and they’re marketing is geniuses.

When they first opened stores here in Phoenix they gave away free mugs that could be filled at any QT location for free. You could fill is with anything, soda, slushes, coffee, etc. It was awesome. But their marketing wouldn’t work if they didn’t back up that marketing with a great and consistent product. Their plan is to give away that great product and get people hooked and coming back. But their key is the great product not the marketing behind that product.

Now, church. How can you create your great products? What do you need to start focusing on and what do you need to stop?

I love talking shop and my shop is the church. I love the church and what God calls the church to do. When I’m able to put both of those passions together. I’m stoked. I have friends that I’m able to talk about life and our lives as a Christ-follower, but not a lot to talk about ministry and talk passionately.

Curt and I worked together at Arrowhead.; I worked under him as the Junior High Director. Curt is the Student Ministry Pastor there. Curt shares my passion for ministry and for the church. Always looking for ways to dream big and better the church. Anytime I have coffee with Curt we dream big and I always leave encouraged and challenged to change the world with the message of Jesus Christ.

I do have a regret, thought. I was a horrible subbornate. I was full of myself and trying to take on ministry by myself. I wish we had the type of relationship we have now, we would of knocked it out of the park and had a ministry capable of doing anything. God could of moved in such ways and tons of students could of met Jesus.

So Curt, if you’re reading this. Sorry dude.

New series one the blog. As I attend different churches from time to time I wanted to post my thoughts and encouragement that I find at those churches. My heart is found in the local church and I believe that God’s greatest tool to reach people is the church!

Headed up the mountain this weekend to break routine and get away. Went asking God to create a ‘thin’ place. A place where the heavens touch the earth and where you experience God, the Creator. Spend some time away from everyone on Saturday asking God to show my just a small glimpse of His size. He did just that. (more…)
