Garmin hits iPhone directly with Nuviphone

Garmin has everything iPhone users want…GPS, MMS texting, 3G connectivity, sweet Google App that geotagges all the pictures and video you take on the phone, noting the location where they were taken.

It’s one downside…it looks like a brick. Got to love Apple and it’s desire to turn out products that look good.

Check out the article, Garmin hits iPhone directly with Nuviphone.

What flavor of pudding would you be?

Chocolate. Because everyone loves chocolate, but those weird people and who wants to be friends with weird people. Of course, I believe it makes me weird comparing myself to chocolate pudding.

What would you be?

Never Again

I’ve been complaining about my Starbucks being way to busy and wishing I was at another location. Well, today was dead and I never want to expereince that again. I swear that time really did stop. I kept looking at the timer on our drip coffee and every time I look it moved maybe a minute. I would rather be crazy busy and never stop, then standing there looking really really hard for something to do. I think I cleaned everything in that store…twice. No one is going to complain that our store wasn’t clean today.

Daily Question

It works like this: each day I’m asked a question and I answer it. It’s that simple. The hope is that it helps me to remember to post each day. Today’s question:

What is the perfect amount of change to have in your pocket?

That’s easy. $1.25 in quarters. That means I can get my Dr. Pepper from QT (gas station here in Phoenix) on my way from work. I do it all the time. Especially when I’m broke and searching for quarters. Thanks to Wendy and Steve we have this sweet change sorter so I just grab the roll of quarters and I’m good for a week.

How To Deliver Like Jobs

Article over at Business Week – Deliver a Presentation like Steve Jobs – that is worth your time to read if you are communicating at all and especially if you are communicating the most important message…the gospel. We should always be learning how to become better. Here is a part of it:

5. Try for an unforgettable moment. This is the moment in your presentation that everyone will be talking about. Every Steve Jobs presentation builds up to one big scene. In this year’s Macworld keynote, it was the announcement of MacBook Air. To demonstrate just how thin it is, Jobs said it would fit in an envelope.

7. Give ‘em a show. A Jobs presentation has ebbs and flows, themes and transitions. Since he’s giving his audience a show instead of simply delivering information, Jobs includes video clips, demonstrations, and guests he shares the stage with. Enhance your presentations by incorporating multimedia, product demonstrations, or giving others the chance to say a few words.

8. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Despite your best preparation, something might go wrong as it did during the keynote. Jobs was about to show some photographs from a live Web site, and the screen went black while Jobs waited for the image to appear. It never did. Jobs smiled and said, “Well, I guess Flickr isn’t serving up the photos today.” He then recapped the new features he had just introduced. That’s it. It was no big deal. I have seen presenters get flustered over minor glitches. Don’t sweat minor mishaps. Have fun. Few will remember a glitch unless you call attention to it.

I haven’t had much time to check this out and see how it works, but it looks really promising. If you are part of a planning team for a church service this might be something to look into.

I Love It When God's Plan Comes Together

You all know that I’ve been telling God that I need a team to start this church and that I didn’t want to do it on my own. In my vision of this church we have five senior pastors, I know it’s nuts! But it is what is going to make this vision all come together. I’ve been praying about those five for some time now and I have my selfish ideas of who I would want them to be. In my mind there are five pastors leading this church:

the Creative Arts Pastor – overseeing our weekend experiences, motion media, bands, etc.
the Family Pastor – overseeing our age level ministries and small groups and well as anything else that gets put on his plate.
the Strategic Pastor – overseeing our outreach and marketings. Making sure that the brand of our church stays true to who we are.
the Finance Pastor – overseeing our finances, but more importantly a financial counseling ministry.
the Lead Pastor – the jack of all trades; only because he isn’t great at just one, but just okay at all.

Well, I got this email from one of those guys that have been praying about it and talking to:

…I should follow up with you, officially, that I am on board with this thing 100%, I want to be apart of your team and start this Church! I am so excited about it all. I cant wait to see what God is going to do in our lives. So yeah man I’m there, and Sarah is backing me up on this also (which is very important)….

John Popovich is on board to start this church 100% and is filling the Creative Arts Pastor role. God is calling him into FULL TIME ministry and I can’t express how excited I am for Him and His ministry. He is a very gifted man in so many ways; probably in more ways then he even realizes. So welcome Pastor John. (Does that sound weird to you, John?) God is bringing His team together and were following His lead to change this city and reach people with Christ’s love and message of salvation and see continued life change in their lives! Join us for the journey.
